Aren't the Tea party folk suppose to be strict constitutionalists?

They are not calling for the abolition of the separation of Church and State, which by the way is not in the Constitution, they are stating that inalienable rights are granted by God and it was not the intention of the fore fathers to completely separate church and state to the extent that we have made it. Religion is a deep part of our culture and it does directly determine how we govern ourselves and how we determine law... have you ever seen a President sworn into office on something other than a Bible? Have you ever had to be sworn into office?
