Clear internet home service 4G?

Thinking about trying Clear. However to those who has it two questions: 1. I'm going to get the home Modem/router, is it possible to encrypt it? 2nd, I live on a basement level, I can use my cell phone in certain parts of apartment but not others, would this mean the same for clear internet? I'm thinking about doing the $30 a month deal.
