Is it against the law in M. for a salaried employee (manager) to recieve tips from customers?

I am wondering if there are laws that pertain to this in the state of M. Starbucks settled in California on this topic. Dunkin Donuts allows the managers to recieve tips. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could clarify for me,
