If you found something like this.what would you feel? Cautious or inspired?

I don't see how you could get yourself in trouble by just emailing them. If they ask for credit card numbers once you get there, then I'd balk. There are actually people who practice the principles of kindness to strangers, although it does seem a little strange to ask for a reply. It could also be some sociology or psychology student's research project in which they measure people's reaction to something like this.
